Worry

Inside. Right deep in the core of your tummy. A feeling that makes you nauseous. The whole body feels like it’s a minor tremor. Worry.

The thought processes whirl without trying. Before you know it every set scenario is formatting creating the deeper physical feeling that brings one into a diminished state.

Mother would comment, ‘here comes the waterworks’.

Society sees a smile and a gentle demeanour.

The boss bemoans your sensitivity but shouts anyway.

The worry of imperfection stares back at you offering failure and disappointment.

She should know by now!

She should.

Go figure.

The world spins and her world dances its chaos around it.

Be who you most deeply are.

Emily P Freeman writes.

Uncover the shape of your soul, turn down the voice of the inner critic and move into the world with courage to be who you most deeply are.

She pens the words into her notebook writes it down without looking. Knows each letter off by heart.

She wants to be that girl.

She wants to be the girl whose soul is confident in whom and whose she is.

Unforced Rhythms of grace.

The Message echoes the words.

She writes them down. They too are scribbled into her mind. She knows them off by heart.

A word in. A word out.

Slowly she hears the melody playing. The song with words that heal. She the believer. A woman who holds the capacity to breathe the Holy Spirit fire.

Really Breathe.

Corrie ten Boom defined worry as ‘a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a centre of fear.’

She echoes back the words

Perfect love casts out fear.

She hears the preach.

The words bang loud.

Louder than the other words.

YOU COULD NOT BE LOVED MORE.

Something is silenced inside of her.

Be most deeply who are.

All the words string together like a pearl necklace. One of great price.

A deep cost of redemption.

No need to worry.

She knows she will quiver.

She knows she will still cry.

She knows she will feel the ache of living.

Yet

She knows that the Love that chose to step out and bring redemption pure and true. Is Hers.

You Unravel Me

With A Melody

You

Surround Me With

A Song

Of Deliverance…..

I rescue you because I loved you.

She hears the story. But it’s spoken with the unforced rhythms

Of GRACE.

She writes the post script. For she is forever growing in this journey of self awareness and surrender. In her Examen under Presence, she writes;

Sometimes we experience sadness, hear it, then we carry it, the whole bucket full. We pray, yet continue to carry the worry and sadness. Hands full. Jesus came to carry the load. Its the daily habit forming hard work. Tools to equip.  Surrender.

The unforced rhythm.
We cannot carry it. We need the habit of compassion and courage that speaks this grace to our souls. Releasing the weight of our buckets. To Christ.

Let’s write it out. Read it. Habit it into our thinking and our coffee moments and our ordinary days.

Matthew 11

Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.

I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.

 Keep company with me

and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

Word in, word out.

Some Notes on Spiritual Legacy & Mindfulness

Thank you for coming along this journey with me as I type onto my page here at rachnotes.

May you rise in with love dear friend.

Some years ago I wrote an essay for my English Higher on Faith Focus about my Dad living out his belief in God  and the legacy it left in my life and others most probably too.

Authenticity and transparency ribboned around the words faith legacy or spiritual legacy. The character that walked and sought God, prayed and kept accountable to her Heavenly Father. She weaves into her world value that’s eternal. She hopes to emulate hers Fathers commitment that he demonstrated in his 57 years of living.

She muses over the recent year or so. Could you ever have planned to walk this journey? Leaving your job and spending your precious present moments with your Mother who was to live her last few months of life.  Living your life walking the path of #slowliving. Not slow really but deliberate and intentional making choices that seemed out of control at times and out of your grasp. Death is a journey of surrender.

Looking at the world with a new view. Using technology to soar and not sink.

To fail. To run. To fail, yet run again.

Knowledge gifted with the therapist who taught mindfulness to help you choose the right values, to know your own thinking. Indeed when you are the therapist and should be showing your clients the therapeutic tools. Upside down world!

It turned around on me. I read and I learn and dare to think there is another way.

Breathe is where it’s at.

Breath-in

Headspace taught me that.

She has the tools.

Running, breathing. Owning the morning. Mornings like these are where she is most alive.

Where the rubber hits the road, the saying goes!

Inhale and take the fresh breezes of a new day. She jogs slow. She is outside. She feels alive.

When life squashed her and made her feel small she finds the ability and resources to be strong again.

Legacy teaches us we can do this. It was lived out before us. In the war times, redundancy, sickness. Endurance.

The mind can learn new pathways. The counsellor advises.

Be brave  and take a new route. There is another way.

She grasps the camera and her creativity and mindfulness takes her to new horizons.

My Dad left a legacy. We work it out uniquely. Our journeys desired the same – to finish well. Dad did finish well with honour and integrity.

May I share some words by author Sarah Bessey who also writes on legacy with a similar heart

 – ‘Nothing starts with us and it won’t end with us, we are part of a bigger story‘.

She continues and I’m with her on this ;

i want to finish strong ……..

The idea of legacy, of a heritage of faith, of the cloud of witnesses feels more real to me now than ever before‘.

When looking at legacy backwards in my  case of now both parents, I’m observing ordinary intentional living. The gift demonstrated. To me.
One of my favourite treasured blessings is gathered as a family listening to the radio, I’m  seated on the floor leaning in at my Dads chair just simply sipping tea and being together.

Ann Voskamp terms that presence.

She writes about presence

The gift of presence has an expiry date.

The legacy carries on though. It is true that we need to be present and to finish strong. We endure because we are taught how to. Legacy of intentional living out the gospel demonstrated from all those around us.

Hebrews 12

The Message

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way

the Voice

So since we stand surrounded by all those who have gone before, an enormous cloud of witnesses, let us drop every extra weight, every sin that clings to us and slackens our pace, and let us run with endurance the long race set before us.

Legacy has its trail and I’m leaving one too. I remember an aunt who prayed and the grandmother who loved. The friend who linked my arm and the wise words of a doctor and confidant. The women who taught us as young girls then wives.
Seeds are sown every day. Deposits of grace. Purity and simplicity.

There are those who teach you about light and how to see it.

Peonies in the garden take on new creative opportunities. He’s the creator let’s be the best art we can.

rachnotes_

She’s resting and working and feeling the anxiety but it’s okay.

Healing gathers its beautiful floral fragrance around her.
Breath-in.

Embrace the wonder of each new day.

  • Rise, my 2017 / 365 word! Should she leave a legacy let it be this – in life we can always rise

We can walk our journey and keep rising. And finish strong.

Kim Walker-Smith writes these words on the album, On My Side.

You say rise, You say rise

And draw me from the ashes of the night

So I rise, yes I rise

To live inside the heart that beats with mine

Paying attention with thankfulness gives power to rise, She prays that seeds of gentleness and hope inspire others to rise. Let’s leave a legacy that encourages others to rise daily.
Perhaps the journey must be lived with our full attention and the rest is left to the Angels?

Thank you for the company.

Hello to 2017

One year whizzing past.

Another approaches with similar speed. Hello 2017.

What does this year ahead view like from here?

I began a 5 day daily meditation on the bible app. Bridging the close of the advent readings by Ann Voskamp and the start of HTB bible in a year.

The app reminded me of how to consider God in the present moment.

How often we dwell overly on past pain and loss or even a past preferred life.

Then there is the panic of unknown days ahead, the approaching challenges and adventures of a new horizon ahead.

To dwell in the now of life causes us to be still,  to take a breath, to abide. To trust with our whole selves means it’s possible in the now. We trust God with our hopes and fears we trust with our today.

Matthew 6:34The Message

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

Getting overwhelmed by life becoming anxious about life often is a result of a panic inside that pictures the project in its entirety.

Slow – slow – slow.

Or as I am quoted by my sister now – stop – stop – stop.

The addiction to hurry and activity wins a feel good factor.

I’m intentional about how I can address this is my own life.

Listen to the birds song in the moment. See the sunrise.

Make choices that unclutter my world outside and within.

Trusting in promises, avoiding over focusing on the distant view, instead investing in the present that puts trust in charge.

Rise, she is such a little word.

I am embracing its hope in countless ways already.

Seeing my present as the time to rise. As one sunset and one moon already risen brings grace into a world that aches for light I see it already breaking through. When feel I can’t cope I see the oneword being air to me.

Rise my child

It was whispered into my soul as a young woman and it’s whispered still.

Rise into 2017 with the strength that’s greater and wings that fly higher.

Rise spoke Jesus to the child.

In that present moment

She took His hand and stood up.

Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, “Talitha kum!” (which translated means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up HSCB

Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.

Matt 5 NKJ

She chooses to take the hand and rise. She is not ignorant of life’s losses but grabs gratitude and grace by the hand and skips with childlike faith into 2017 knowing the one whose she is is always alway with her.

Offering _

As we move into our new year I offer you no judgement and ask this same grace in return.

I offer you the gift to share in the present.

I offer you hope in which to rise up to your dreams.

I offer you courage to bear the greys of our days.

I offer you a Saviour with which one can rise because the righteous right hand sustains .

My offering is my prayer for you to be encouraged in a journey step by step with the good shepherd, rising daily into outrageous grace and abundance of blessings_

There will be joy in the morning therefore rise

Happy New Year

Rise

Let love be the reason

Every season

She rises

Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.

~ Hamilton Wright Mabie

When she gets to the edge of herself –

Forgets the manual and the love that’s won her. She frets and feels alone. She needs to slow her breathe and be still and know God.

She drinks again the words of life water that quenches and restores. The tangles of entwined greys unravel into words that hold her.

She needs to be there more.

Stopping sipping slow at the masters feet inhale the words of honey and sharp sword truths. Strength for the journey-

She can rise then.

Only then.

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
Isaiah 41:10 NASB

Thank You

An enormous thank you to my readers and encouragers in this space.

I value you.

I appreciate your words and kind counsel.

Sometimes I find it hard to pay attention. The job list drowns me out!

Today I took the idea from the blog shared way back in spring by @reallyprettyuseful .

I took myself into a different place of paying attention to a project.

It unraveled me!

The green twine and the way the hoop seemed to happen fascinated me. I’m somewhat used to disasters and tears!!

My inspiration came from here.

So with twinkling lights and a twist on the yellow my wreath hangs at the kitchen window .

Imperfect and different.

It made me realise how much input all you beautiful people pour into others to inspire.

Let me tell you how much you are an inspiration daily to someone- believe it and grow it.

I began my new word Rise early.

It’s filling me with such hope as I see how I can rise daily. Into new adventures.

Every Blessing_

Thank you

Happy Christmas
