The Time of The singing of the Birds Has Come

Song of Solomon 2:12 The Time of the singing of birds has come .
Its early morning light eases it’s way through the semi closed curtains . I listen to the birds song . It’s early spring . It’s a gentle unified chirping sound . In a few weeks their song will be louder and fill the volume in the sky . Right now in March it’s clear but softer .

It’s the season of warmer days to come . More noise and light . Picnics . Outdoor cups of tea on the patio . The smell of daffodils and then bluebells . Drink it in soul !
The heralding of a saviour into the world came with a Quiet gentle humble even smelly arrival in a stable of cows . No bluebells around there !

Apart from shepherds rejoicing Jesus came very ordinarily into this world .

Let’s jump now to the story of the triumphal entry on a donkey .

Most probably a rather noisy affair . No doubt birds tweeting loudly .
Come  with me then to a place on golgotha Hill . Where the birds, one can imagine, hushed their song to watch the scene that brought you and I into a healing Hope .

For by His stripes we are healed says the scripture .

Let’s sit there and consider this . The quietness the unexpected darkness the unusual tearing of a curtain from top to bottom . The aloneness . The sin . The shame .
Today I read a quote from CS LEWIS  : Isn’t the primary answer that He wants You .

That challenges me . Really . The Christ wants me !

So we have a cross . We have such an expression of love . We cannot fathom it . A God who puts us above sacrifice.

We take chocolate eggs and buy bunnies and even the word Easter itself belies the truth of the gospel.

Think about the truth of it.

How love wins .
Romans 5:6-8The Message (MSG)
6-8 Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him.

Leaves one silent in the awe of it . Can I really grasp this .  Redemption work bringing hope through the broken body of Jesus on a cross . Past understanding .

Romans 11:33 – the Voice
33 We cannot wrap our minds around God’s wisdom and knowledge! Its depths can never be measured! We cannot understand His judgments or explain the mysterious ways that He works! For,

34 Who can fathom the mind of the Lord?

What we know is that resurrection is coming .

In the story we know well of Jesus tomb being empty and that resurrection is in our lives and in eternity .
Living kingdom values is held in the truth of all Christ has done for us . Do we fully grasp its power it’s full glory . Dare we speak of it . Words are inadequate to sum up the wonder of EMMANUEL. God with us . Still with us . In the ordinary days of our living He is with us.

We remember this He is with us always .

Like a child holding a Fathers hand with an assurance that

I will never leave you nor forsake you .
Dear friend let’s approach the throne of grace and rejoice in our Father God and saviour . Who is all we need .
Hebrews 4:16

16 So let us step boldly to the throne of grace, where we can find mercy and grace to help when we need it most

The Voice

Titus 3:4-7The Voice
4 But then something happened: God our Savior and His overpowering love and kindness for humankind entered our world; 5 He came to save us. It’s not that we earned itby doing good works or righteous deeds; He came because He is merciful. He brought us out of our old ways of living to a new beginning through the washing of regeneration; and He made us completely new through the Holy Spirit, 6 who was poured out in abundance through Jesus the Anointed, our Savior. 7 All of this happened so that through His grace we would be accepted into God’s covenant family and appointed to be His heirs, full of the hope that comes from knowing you have eternal life

How can we sum up . Shall we know deeply that He wants us, gives us the hope we desperately need and respond exuberantly saying – you are all I need . I choose You.

Then . Be embraced in the best hug in the whole wide world .

Linger long on this Love.

The time of the singing of the birds has come and is to come.

Amen
